Scholarships

The Theological Institute at Saint John’s Seminary offers scholarships to students through its own resources. Both degree and certificate students are eligible. These scholarships include a 50% tuition remission for eligible Catholic school teachers. For more information on these scholarships, please contact the director of the program that interests you.

Additionally, the Archdiocese of Boston has established the Promise for Tomorrow Scholarship Fund, from the generosity of donors in the Boston area, to benefit those serving the Church in the Archdiocese of Boston in parishes or other ministries. These scholarships assist Theological Institute students in need of financial assistance – both in degree and certificate programs.

In addition to need-based aid, the Promise for Tomorrow Scholarship Fund offers two merit-based scholarships. The Promise for Tomorrow Fund awards these two scholarships once a year. These scholarships are:

“Outstanding Lay Service Scholarship” (for the Master of Arts in Ministry degree).
”New Evangelization Scholarship” (for the Master of Theological Studies for the New Evangelization degree).

Please contact the relevant program director if you are interested in applying for a merit based scholarship.
